That's me

Hello,

Welcome to this Didge Web. DidgeWeb is a Dutch Site about the Didgeridoo. The site started when I wanted to write down something about the didge. Then it happened that I almost missed two really nice didge happenings. One was a workshop by Mark Atkins, and the other was a performance of ARC Dreaming & Nunukul Kanjeil.

That's when I though that a Didgeridoo Agenda was something not yet present on the Internet. This was around October 1999. So I set up a simple agenda on the net, asking people to send in agenda items. I also went searching on the internet to find didgeridoo things. The agenda started to grow and people could sign in to an Agenda Mailing List. My site became known in the Netherlands.

Somewhere in April 2000 Jan Terpstra called me and told me that David Blanasi was coming to the Netherlands. Roughly around that time I also got me my own domain on the internet. Jan asked me to put the David Blanasi info at least on the Agenda. I made a bit bigger page and allowed people to sign in for his concert and workshop. Having my own domain I could also write scripts to facilitate handling the Blanasi subscriptions.

Getting acquainted with Perl Scripts, I found how to move the guestbook to my own site. Quickly after that I adapted a WebBoard script for a Dutch Didgecussion Board. That's roughly how this site originated, and it is still growing. It is still a non-commercial site without any adds, pop-ups, pop-under or whatever other commercial stuff you can think of and I hope to keep it that way.

Have fun on this site!
